When I export the slices from a loop, the resulting wav files are clicky and distorted, therefore unusable. When the loop is playing back in Liveslicer it is fine, does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

I just tried on my computer and it works as expected.
A possible explanation could be that the source file you used has another bitrate, e.g. 32bit, and your editor is not able to read such files. Try using Wavosaur and/or Audacity, they should be possible to load the files (and convert to the common format 44.1kHz / 16bit).
