This looks pretty cool:

http://konkreetlabs.com/

- anyone using it? What's your setup - what instruments/hosts does it work well with?

Post

Well I bought it - not sure I need the Reaktor app as I have Bidule ( I think that can translate osc to midi??)

Post

This is cool but so far just used with Reaktor. Anyone got it working with anything else?

I got Twisted KP so now I have it hooked up to Kore, running one of the morphing patches I made for XILS PolyKB 2 and getting some really great analog filter madness from it. This is a great complement for Kore as I can now run the morphpad using a large screen with multitouch, snapshots, inertia and I can't believe how responsive it is - you can just touch it lightly and get very subtle effects or go mad.

Looks quite intriguing. Is it easy to set up with any daw/synth?

How do you like it? Did it realy bring sthg in your setup (besides having fun tweaking images)?
You made me curious, but as it's on the expensive side compared to other ipad apps, I thought I'd ask for more details

Been looking for some videos, but all you see is baunch of fingers moving drawings in the ipad, none really explains how it works, nor comments it.
Even KL videos are basic, and don't go deep into explaining the app.

It's really brilliant. It took a while to work out how to use it - with Reaktor setting up OSC is relatively easy but most DAWS don't have it or it's more complicated. However I now have the Twisted KP ensemble that translates OSC into messages for various apps and instruments and using that with NI Kore is just amazing.

It is very responsive, even the smallest touch can create results, I am not experiencing any latency so the effect is immediate, and for me it takes me away from notes and scales to thinking in terms of intensities, gestures and spaces. The inertia is useful for creating evolving sounds and morphs, or you can turn it off and just use it like a Kaoss Pad type thing but with multi touch instead of just one. And it has a polyphonic ribbon bar that can also be set to control inertia.

Thank you very much for the reply.

I'm kind of new to this ipad/osc world, not getting how everything works, but in my mind all these app end up transmitting/modifying midi cc's (if you control a synth), I may be wrong though.

My main host is Logic and it supports OSC since a few versions backwards.

I find it really annoying there's no demo in the app store, except if the developper bothers to make a lite version....

i was skeptic at first but some UK friend bought me the KP.
it's indeed an amazing controller app. it feels like a true instrument !
and it's easy ( for me ) to link to my fav ens in reaktor. ( i didnt try it with other apps yet ). and it's a lot of fun :)
