Using Cantabile to trigger Video Clips for live performance, questions!

I have a few larger performances coming in a few weeks, and I want to use Cantabile to trigger video clips when I hit transport play.

The transport play will be sent from one PC that is being used for the audio routing and that starts the song, it will be sending a signal via MIDI to another laptop running Cantabile that will receive it and then trigger a video clip to play immediately upon receiving the signal.

I have a few questions, has anyone used it in this way live at all?

What would be the easiest or best way to make this happen?

Thanks in advance, for any help.

Hi,

I read your posting several times and do not really understand what you need. You wrote:

"...Cantabile that will receive it and then trigger a video clip to play immediately upon receiving the signal. "What shall cantabile do in this setup?

If you think cantabile has a media file player implemented that is able to replay vidoe formats: I'm not aware that cantabile would be able to do something like that (the manual says: "Cantabile supports the playback of audio and MIDI media files") (page 15).

If cantabile only is used as a MIDI sender for another instance that receives a MIDI signal and is then able to replay a video file I don't understand the need for cantabile as you could directly send the MIDI signal from the first PC (??).
