Glad I'm not the only person who, though he correctly remembered to title the Soundcloud entry (Artist - Song Title), forgot that the filename is (duh) in fact, the file name - which in my case (and about 25% of the other entries), does NOT contain the artist name.

OSC gods, please go easy on us for this technical oversight .

Wow, what a month, record number of submissions and good to see so many newcomers too. Some difficult calls this time due to the sheer number of pieces, even my shortlist was very long! Eventually I whittled it down to these five:

Ancient - Ice Cream Summer - 5 points
That simple but catchy riff and the way it developed with the variation in sounds as the track progressed really grabbed me. Bass perhaps a little too loud but otherwise excellent production. Overall this was the tune that stuck in my head more than any other

JoeCat - Chasing Mrs. Peel - 4 points
Ok, so the mix wasn't great and that sync lead sound was too loud but this was just SO brilliant. I was really impressed at how you took Zebralette and made such a good set of sounds, and then put them together in such a fun and authentic sounding piece. Definitely the most original track of the month for me. Hats off to you for such an inventive and enjoyable effort!

I found this the better of your 2 tracks this month, great combination of sounds and melody with the trademeark Irion production values. Really good

bzur - Kepler-12b - 2 points
I liked this the best out of your submissions as it was quite a simple melody but put together very skillfully, very classical in its arrangement, almost like some kind of celestial waltz. I could picture the moons rotating around one another as the track played

Great percussion and the way it kicked off in the second section was excellent

Others on my shortlist and worthy of special mention (in no particular order)

z.prime - I, You - great percussion, nice formant sounds
Examigan - Nebula - loved the intro and outro sections
evo2slo - Earn Your Stripes - again it was the drums/percussion which impressed
Acronym - Itz Halftim3 - WOW to that opening siren!
Akson - Free Canned Sardines - brilliant selection of sounds!!!
vanmorrison - All My Love - really beautiful and chilled piece
bzur - Virgo's Eyes - beautiful and haunting - but points went to your other piece in the end
IrionDaRonin - Asian Passion - likewise, just lost out to your other submission but still impressive

Great job guys!! As usual, it is hard to figure out who I'd like as the winners (for me anyway), and put them in order. Whew!!


I won't make a bunch of individual comments...except for the last one I picked, Moonlette Zebralette, which is real different, and stands out a bit in the crowd. It reminds of a Stravinsky song called Devil's Dance for some reason.

Seems this is an uncurable issue happening in every osc despite being in the rules, faq and constant reminders in the threads so can't be bothered to do anything about it and just leave it to voter's justice..

For sure everyone understand rushing an upload before deadline and forgetting to name, but then some might simply get lost on playlist's when they submit their vote too, so it can work both ways.

Tune outshines the name, indeed captures the Asian culture with a succinct hook.

bzur - Virgo's eyes - 4 points
Hard to say what's going on, while I'm on cloud nine.

Doc Jon - Iona Sunrise - 3 points
Amazing soundscapes, vibrato is the only thing that rubs me the wrong way.

Gigue07 - Syntheza-x - 2 points
Melodic, enjoyable but a bit bass-heavy for my taste during the second part.

ville - Precog Dreamer - 1 point
Excellent drums, a bit bass heavy.


Runners-up:

This tune would be in the top 5 if it were mixed differently; a great melody line.

Not at all my style, but incredible orchestration.

Beat rocks, absolutely! ... but can't ride it the whole song.
