Got Genome Midi Sequencer because I was curious. And it is a fun app.....
Easy to set up on "Network Midi" on the Mac. I have the Korg Digital Collection on my Mac, and can set and compose up to 16 tracks on it with the iPad. Works great for me (I do have pretty good WIFI) and just plain fun. It also works through Reaper, my old Logic Express 7, and Cubase Studio 4. I don't know if any of this is possible on a PC, but on the Mac it is simple....
I was very curious about the "virtual midi" thing. It works, and works well. But, since you can only open one instance oaf a synth at a time (for example Sunrizer) it is limited at this time. It is great to be able to actually sequence Sunrizer, but because of the "one instance" limitation, and no multi-timbrel synths... it's really not practical at this point.....
Anyway, Genome is a great tool to have, and has me looking at the link between computer and iPad in a new way.....
BTW, there are some bad reviews from people that don't understand music software.... Genome is a midi sequencer, it does not make any sound on its own..... To make sounds you have to have external hardware or iPad synths that have virtual midi (there are only a few at this time....)
Some fun things with Genome Midi Sequencer

I like it. Pattern based and different style composing. Great support from developer too.
