Slifty definitely is one of Andreas' most insane and powerful inventions, IMHO.
And I really am working on some tutorials for it. Keep bugging me for 'em if I don't post the first one here in a few days' time.

I guess I'm being characteristically stoopid, but how do i load a sample in this? I've tried clicking everything possible, but I guess I'm missing something, any clues?

there's a button titled "wav", in the row left to the "trigger edit" button. press it.
now drag any wave files to the black area, from windows explorer to form a pool. assign, have fun.

In cubasis VST I can't drag 'n' drop into the black area. The mouse pointer turns to the "stop-sign" shape.
In fruityloops, it looks like I can drag 'n' drop, but the files don't appear.
This looks like SUCH a great plugin, but
So - does anyone have it working in windows XP yet?

I'm using Cubasis VST with XP and it worked fine for me
I opened explorer and tiled windows and it dragged and dropped okay - it did give me the 'stop' sign but it still put the files in the black square.
Doesn't help you much though does it......
