Just a funny idea I've thought of. If we could actually ever be able to remotely control our computers through handheld devices, seeing as their networks are getting better and better, if up to the point where they could receive audio data directly from your computer that processes it.

And yeah, setting up something like that with a software would be a bitch. No doubt. But I can't ever see a mobile VSTi overcoming a real VSTi in music production. You can fool around with those, but doing serious stuff? I can't imagine myself that at least.

And yes, laptops do exist. They are also getting smaller and smaller while packing the same or even more of that punch. Considering that soon we will have phones with 4 cores as well. The thing is - laptops don't (at least for now) feel like the right thing to pull off while riding some bus and getting people staring at you (especially the one next to you, wondering, what kind of nerd are you!).

So, any thoughts? And I don't intend this to be handheld devices vs laptops in musical production argument. Let's forget laptops, smaller the better!
