Hi,

Just a quick heads up for those of you running Alchemy Mobile. The v1.1.11 update makes restoring in-app purchases easier, and also fixes the bug where content might be automatically deleted. This problem only affected iOS 5.0.0 users, who will need to update to iOS 5.0.1 for the bug fix to work.

We've also added MIDI Output to the Pro Upgrade. Core MIDI over WiFi or USB / MIDI DIN will allow you to record a MIDI performance from the Alchemy Mobile keyboard directly to your host. The Mobile keyboard sends note, velocity and poly aftertouch as MIDI, while the remix pad and performance controls work via the usual remote connection.

To use MIDI over WiFi Mac users will need to configure network MIDI in Audio MIDI Setup. Windows users will need to install and configure rtpMIDI.

The update is available from the iTunes App Store now. If you have any questions please ask.

Peace,
Andy.

....... yeah, yeah. But is there any news on the Alchemy Mobile video competition?! Did I win the 500 big ones?? :D

Post

 Sorry for the delay, it's been a bit tricky to get hold of the other Camels for voting over the last couple of weeks. We'll sort it out ASAP!

Peace,
Andy.

One thing a few of us have been after is the ability record\export the 'morphing' aspect of the synth. Is that on the cards for a future update?

Thanks.

In-app automation + export is something we're fairly likely to add in a future update. We want it too, but it's lot of work to do right and some other features have had to take priority.

Anyone able to purchase the Pro and Guitar upgrades after updating?

A small number of users have contacted us about the Pro Upgrade not being available in v1.1.11 or the previous build (v1.1.8 ). Either it fails to show up at all, or the price for the Pro Upgrade is wrong at the point of purchase ($19.99 instead of the current discount price of $14.99).

We've tested in-app purchasing ourselves with v1.1.8 and v1.1.11, it all seems to be working OK so I'm not sure what the problem could be.

Are you logging in via a proxy server or VPN? Our web site does not allow that, and although it's unlikely this would affect in-app purchasing, it's worth asking.

Peace,
Andy.

Cool, thanks for that. And for engaging with your users too - goes a long way!

Thank you thank you. The ability to record the automations was what I was waiting for. This is exciting and will no doubt put an end to any plans I had with my ever tolerant woman this evening ;-)

No proxy or VPN in use. Uninstalling, then reinstalling, gives no difference. It shows the wrong price, then doesn't allow the purchase through. Doesn't let me buy Guitar, either. Yet I just bought the Cinema and Big upgrades, no problem.

So did you purchase some of the in-app content with v1.1.11 (Cinematic / BigTone) but you can't purchase the Pro Upgrade or Guitar Mutation? That is extremely odd.

Which iTunes store are you logged in to? US? UK? Somewhere else? Do you see any error messages?

Andy.

Yes. Canada store.
It shows the $20 price, then "this item is currently being modified, please try again later", and finally "can't connect to itunes store".

The Guitar upgrade just says "can't connect to itunes store".

Interesting, thanks. It's the same error message a user from Germany was seeing ("currently being modified"). It sounds like it might be a problem with the Apple servers so I'll try raising a support ticket with them to find our more information / ask them to fix it.

Andy.

Actually, it was the Arp and Cinematic sets I bought this morning, but I just bought BigTone, and that one also goes though.
