So I guess like probably pretty much everyone else I've really never had a chance to use EVERY single antress compressor in all the ways I should have tried by now... But I will say that recently I just got the notion to start trying various antress comps for mix glue usage and was a little startled by what I've found with this guy.

This is honestly the best mix buss compressor I have ever used. I mean damn. I was noticing the "perceived" volume difference I was getting from similar actual db levels (metering in the DAW) when employing this comp on the master of old songs I've done and honestly it was like I could push an equivalent 6db or so extra volume into a mix without altering the real headroom I was looking at at all. Zero detectable distortion. No crap-sounding pumping artifacts that I'm used to hearing from less capable compressors. Using ratios of 2 or 4 with a slow attack and fast release (typically) is giving me just unreal results on this comp. The low-frequency and treble energy also seems to be preserved with heavy compression settings better than any other comp I've used.

Call me crazy... but this thing is like a f**king secret weapon or something lol. A lot of the other antress comps definitely introduce noticable distortion and artifacts with a lot of material at more aggressive settings (whether on instruments/groups/master channel/etc.) but this, this is something else. Serious, if you want a kick-ass mix glue comp - try this one out. :love:

I'll throw some up when I get back home for sure. No-one else has used this one? I've never used really nice mix buss plugins like the glue but I figure it likely would come pretty close. I've compared this to T-Racks Compressor (the basic one), Compressive Pro, Density mkII, Modern Compressor, Modern Polokiller, Maximus, etc.

It may not be listed but I assure you that it's included in the download. There are 24 plugs in there.

It's in there. I downloaded the plugin pack, but haven't had a chance to install it yet. I do remember Antress stuff being very good.

mmm, didn't reinstall these after my last laptop meltdown , have to try them again!

It's in the latest release (FullPack4950.zip):

Modern DynaKiller (Open Source)

* FET style compressor.
* Classic Pre-coloring.
* GR meter/Power Off/VU meter modes switch.
* Input control (Relative threshold).
* Threshold level (0 to -40 dB).
* Ratio switch (2:1, 4:1, 8:1, 12:1 and Limit).
* Attack time control (0.01 ms to 10 ms).
* Release time control (50 ms to 2 sec).
* Output control (0 to 40 dB).
* Rifftrax secret weapon. Not to be used outside a rifftrax mix.

These are the notes from the readme file exactly as I typed them. We can look, but we can't play. :D

Thanks rifftrax for this tip. I downloaded the suite some time ago, but there were so many plugs, not all with meaningful names, that I just never went through them. Wondered if there were any standouts. Will certainly give this a try.

Do try The Glue though, it's my go-to buss comp.
