Hi everybody,

let me first say that I'm very pleased with my purchases in general (Geist, Tremor). But concerning the content stuff, including the Geist expanders, I feel there is not much attention payed to the more mellow styles like ambient / chill out / downnbeat.
I have looked elsewhere to find some midi drum files fitting the ambient / chill out genre. But there doesn't seem to be a lot available.

Regards, Wilfried

The content is in your head.

I don't want to reenvent the wheel. Just need some basic midi files that I can shape to my personal needs and save time.
Believe me if I had the time I'd invent my own instruments programming my own sounds and record in a DAW developed by me too. But I'm making music just for fun only for a few hours a week.

Sounds like your are venting, but in a kind way I have Geist and demoed Tremor
and here is what my take on things. First of all Tremor has only been released
a short time ago. Look for some 3'rd party presets or FX may release some more content. I think Tremor has the potential to fit many of your needs. Geist
well for me the Factory content as far as songs and patterns go are not my thing.
However it is how I use Geist with that content plus how one can sample externally lends itself to many possibilities. I wouldn't look out for midi files for Geist, I would look for sample loops and see what you could do with those.
Another example how one can use music tools differently. I just bought an Akai
MPD32 and have presets for it and Geist, they integrate well. The fact is I
don't do Hip Hop or House music, yet this combo works great for my needs. I suggest you spend some time with the Tremor manual, get to know the seq, it is so awesome and one can create unique grooves in a rather short time. I don't know what other "Synths" you have but the ones I have can generate some pretty ambient tones that I can sample in Geist. Also Reverb is your friend. Perhaps you can explore what you have or research a good spacious Reverb, I am about to demo Vahalla's Shimmer for this kind of purpose. Good luck
