Coming Soon: Audiobus - Live Audio Routing Between iOS Apps!!
"From what we've been told so far Audiobus is a virtual mixing board and FX processor for iOS allowing live app-to-app audio streaming, and involves an SDK that app developers include in their projects as well as a separate 'co-ordinating' app that will connect the two apps together. It is said to even work over WiFi (~60ms latency).
...
If all goes well users should start seeing Audiobus released and the functionality implemented into iOS apps in the next couple of months."
I want this yesterday.

This is what the iPad is missing. I want to be able to take digital audio out of Sunrizer or any other synth and pipe it directly into Multitrack DAW or any other DAW and record it.
Right now I need 2 iPads and a MIDI/SPDIF interface on each to do this. I've tried doing the "digital out to digital in" loop trick but I end up getting feedback every time - not sure how you can do this without creating a feedback loop.

This is for sure a step in the right direction. I hope within the next year or so Apple can work out AU for iOS.... THAT would be a real game changer.....

Must say that I have given up on virtual midi due to the continual shift of interfaces and inability to run more than 4 apps at the same time. I also think it is pretty tiresome to set up the different channels. Reminds me of the slow proces of setting up midi hardware. Now with an audio routing system it all just seems to get even more convoluted.
I have returned to the simple and fast way: I record some basics in one app, say Rebirth or iMS20, then export each loop to Nanostudio or beatmaker and finish it with their onboard synths loaded with my favorite samples. Nothing beats the workflow of this procedure so far.
Next step for me would indeed be a AU/VST format of some kind, so you can control effects and instrumenents from within a mini DAW and not outside of it. Looking forward to check out Auria.

I hope that SonicBirth gets released for the Ipad2. Would make it possible for me to build Mac plugins without owning a Mac. Just a wishful thinking, but hey with audio chaining it seams quite logical to me as a next step.

Does anyone have any information regarding the cost of Auria? The video demos look really cool!

...it's just that I knew nothing about it, and when it was mentioned, I checked it out, and it blew my mind! I, without thinking, just posted on impulse. Sorry about that...

By the way, for those interested, I saw it posted somewhere that it will cost $49.
