Wow. I just listened to the title track. Is the first half a 'tron of some description? I seem to remember you liking them on one of my tracks. Very interesting sounds in the second half as well.

Little People seems to follow on from where "For The road" left off, but with more of a Hendrix influence. Actually, this is quite a heavy sound on here.

Did you write all of these in one month?

yes, on the 1st track ('raven'), there are two 'mellotrons' in the opening section; melltron and tapeworm. the entire 'mellotron section' of that is a 2-part riff i wrote 20+ years ago.

the ending of bitterseet is another 20+ year old part. both of these sections were added to their respective pieces at the end of the project.

the rest of it is 'brand new musical hooliganism,' although it's admittedly mostly variants on stuff that's probably been tried at some point before; like, for instance, the 2-chord jam of 'trust fund baby,' etc.; with the lyrics being all new from feb 2012.

oh, 'little people' has the same drum track as 'road'. maybe the 'hendrix' thing is where i attempt to emulate a tremelo bar over 1.5 step trills, by going up and down the fretboard.

Just played some more of this.

I particularly enjoyed "Shockwave Rock And Roll Forever" and "Atlanta Trip". It was a nice change to actually listen to this stuff during the day, when my brain is occasionally functioning on a quantifiable level

Yeah, Astro Surf seems to be a favorite. It would have been cool to have had a more conventional 'punk/surf rock' drum loop for that. The guitar solo turned out well. The vocals came out better than expected.

Meanwhile, I've had another go at the mix for 'Little People.' ...took some of the 'fizz' out of the guitar, raised up both the guitar and vocals a bit.
