can drag & drop RMV MIDI in one Sonar project but not the other

I am using the RMV percussion synthesizer within Sonar X1. In one Sonar project, I can drag and drop groove MIDI data from RMV into an X1 MIDI track just fine (track view). In another project, when I drag and drop the same data, no data appears in the target MIDI track. I have searched the X1 documentation for any setting that I may need to implement, but to no avail.

Any insights into what I am doing wrong?

is x1 fully patched? were both instances of rmv inserted in the same way? i.e., simple instrument track, number of outputs, yadda yadda

No idea,
RMV has no different ways to drag/drop, its always the same, of course. Maybe for some reason a track would not accept dragging MIDI to it. You can try via desktop (in two steps dragging first to desktop, then from desktop to the track).
