Nice work again. This is quite a contrast to your other recent tracks. Good mix. I hope your find a vocalist :)

true. it comes out once in awhile :)

thx!

Well I like what you've got here and also hope you find your vocalist.

P.S.
Never could do anything aggressive myself, always sounds like I'm apologising for being a little loud
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

On this bedroom hi-fi system i'm listen on, it sounds ok. But if I can point out one problem that stands out, it's that the drum kit spacing is way to wide.
I would collapse the drums to the center (mono) but slightly separate the cymbals in the stereo field. If your cymbals aren't on separate tracks, you can copy/paste your composite drum track to a second, then high pass it so only the cymbals come through.

That's what i'd do...what you want is what you do.

@annode
i'm guessing you mean only kick and snare in the center (not toms). the guitars are plenty wide so bringing in the cymbals could help, certainly won't hurt

thx for that!

Yes, the kick/snare and the toms can be also, but having some separation works as well.
I say this about the drum panning because your guitars are widely separated.
Always a good rule of thumb with a mix and genre like this is 'the higher the percussion frequency, the farther to one side it's panned.'
Like small shakers or hand tingly objects are panned hard, and cymbals not so wide.
Panned guitars sound great with mono centered drums. Panned drums work against the space.

If it's not too much trouble, i'd love to hear a version panned like this. If not, that's ok too. :)

Thanks loads for doing that for me kcisANDderit.
I think that sounds a lot better...to my ears. You made no remarks, so i'll guess it doesn't work for you. That's ok., i'm very happy to hear it sound as I expected it would. Thanks again mate. Good rock tune as well :D

actually I do think it works better. Although if there were vocals I might move the snare back off center a bit if i couldn't make it work with eq alone

thx!
