Originally recorded over 10 hours in April 2010, The April 2012 remix took 10 hours. More procedural and technical problems with Waldorf Wave 2.V accompanied this one, resulting in my having to perform a little sound design. The original session was a very frustrating time, but I hope the remix has managed to banish those memories.

Hey, astrochimp, thanks for listening and commenting. Glad you liked it.

Now I have to ask, did you imagine this as "a soundtrack for a really good motorbike racing video game", or have you actually test-driven it, so to speak?

I like it! :)

Personally I'd push that bass up just a little. It's almost non-existent in my cans in the first half. It's a little more "present" in the second half.

I can see diving deeper and deeper in to a space image, through nebulae, across galaxies...or really any "traveling" video, like in a helicopter flying over vast and lavish landscapes and bodies of water.

I love how you evolve a piece, tying things together, referencing back to parts... very smooth. Really enjoyed the listen... lovely liquid and melodic synth lines, the way that end groove kinda sneaks up on you, the subtle yet really effective crescendo before it drops off at the end. Very well done Tim!

Listening before 5am means cans only... I can hear what Kitty is talking about with the bass, but it almost sounds like there's something else there, maybe a sub, that's using up your deep freqs?

excellent tune. i imagine it would be great driving music.
i really like the fluidity of your arrangements, the feeling of being on a journey.

Glad you like it, 4lb Kitty, and thanks for listening :)

You're right. There is very little bass in the first 70% of the track. I was relying on mids and low mids because I couldn't get a bassline that I was happy with, and I thought that introducing the bass towards the end might give it extra emphasis. I might rethink that.

There seems to be a traveling or motion vibe emerging in the comments for this.

The problem I heard with the bass is not that it's not there in the first 70% of the song, it's that it's there, but you need to strain to hear it. ;)

Yes, there's a definite "traveling" vibe to your piece. It's very...moving :hihi:

Thanks very much for listening and the compliments, Matt.

I think I can see what is going on with that bass now. The original track had a Waldorf Wave 2.V bassline. When my old PC died, I lost the ability to save/load patches in 2.V. (After I installed 2.V on my old machine I had to load a point update from the Waldorf website. This update fixed the patch load issues, but is no longer available). Oddly enough, the original projects were still loadable, so I saved the Wave bassline as audio from the original project and used that in the remix. Listening to it now, I'm not very happy with the sound of it, even at higher volume.

I've just put a more conventional bass in there and it sounds a lot better, so I'll replace the track on SoundCloud tomorrow night after I've had a chance to listen to it at a decent volume.

Yep, that bass is just weak. I'll replace it tomorrow night after I've had a chance to listen to the new version without waking up whatsername :-o

4lb Kitty, polyslax. An unexpected listening opportunity just presented itself. New version uploaded on SoundCloud. Now with extra bass

I like that a lot better. :)

Then again, I was a bass player. ;)

But really, I think in the very first bass section, if anything it might be a little too prominent now, but that's only if I was forced to give a criticism. Its level seems to be perfect everywhere else.

On the whole I really like this piece. I'm going to pay more attention to your releases from now on. The whole "seismic" thing kinda threw me and I guess I was expecting dubstep or something.
