Hey

Time to "upgrade"!

Wich one to choose, there + and - for all of them... but very similars? Your thoughts and experiences are welcome, tia.

_ Balance is quiet pricey in regards to the 2 others... and only 2 inputs, no MIDI but AUTO-SENS

_ Quad-capture is nice, but only 2 inputs, but with MIDI and AUTO-SENS, good price

_ Komplete Audio 6, nice, good price (in between), MIDI, 4 inputs (great!), no AUTO-SENS

More?! Anything else?

And yes, this is the price range and number of inputs/outputs I'm looking for.

TIA.

How about Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP? http://www.focusrite.com/products/audio ... ro_24_dsp/ ;) Excellent preamps, especially for the price. DSP reverb/comp/eq.

Just to tell you about some more options. ;) And if you prefer USB [I don't] then this: http://www.focusrite.com/products/audio ... lett_18i6/

Personally, I use their Octopre Dynamic preamp to connect it to RME HDSP PCI and have lots of analog inputs and outputs to route the audio around through different "devices"... and as a mic preamp, of course :), but I wouldn't mind having any of their firewire interfaces, either. I like the build quality of their interfaces and their prices are great in comparison to RME, TC, and MOTU, for example.

Cheers!

I have Komplete Audio and I have complete satisfaction. I haven't tested the others though.

Komplete comes with a Komplete elementsd license (a $50 value), which is more useful imo than the Reason Essentials (too limited) that comes with Balance. Plus, if I remeber correctly, the "safe recording" feature of Balance only works with Reason, not other DAWs.

I got the Presonus Audiobox 22 vsl, cheap and sounds great. If you need more i/o, there i the 44 vsl for a bit more money. Replaced a m-audio firewire 410, and the difference in sound was surprising.

I read that there were some quality issues with the quad capture, such as noise on one of the inputs using a specific setting. Sorry I forgot specifics, but you should read up to see if it was resolved (i believe it had to do with the guitar inputs).
