I downloaded the Diva update before, it seems i can run it no problem on a Q6600 Quad Core so soundset continues, massive pads out of this thing matetehlord wrote:Didn't realise you'd updated your computer to make this!

nice to hear you will do soundsets for Diva. I'm looking forward to this.
I already downloaded the new Diva beta but did not really check it so far as i'm working on sounds for Saurus (i joined the Tone2 sound design team for Saurus now) and also Synthmaster 2.5.
Good to hear the new Diva beta works nicely with a Q6600 as i got the same CPU.

Bummer, I was considering buying Diva when it was at a reduced price but the CPU usage made it impossible.
Looking forward to hearing the set anyway, even if I can't use the bloody thing

There have been optimisation on the 1.1....multi thread apparently works much better on recent processors, what processor do you have Rob?

here is a test with my Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU which i just published at the U-He forum:
Like i already mentioned above i am looking forward to Rob's new soundset. In the future i plan to do a soundset for Diva too which with the new update will be more fun. As i already made a big amount of factory presets for Diva i am doing sounds for a few other synths currently.Ingonator wrote:Hi,
sorry i chime in quite late but i am working on sounds for other synths currently.
I just installed and checked the new Diva 1.1 and checked the CPU use.
My system specifications are:
Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU (4 x 2.4 GHz), Windows 7 32-bit SP1, 4GB RAM, Foczsrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP, Ableton Live 8
Here are the result for a 3 notes chord (played slowly up to very fast) for my own "IW Poly6 Strings" preset:
1.) Diva 517 (v1.01):
- Great accuracy: 42-78%
- Divine accuracy: not possible (100+ %)
2.) Diva 657 (v1.1) with "multi-threaded" disabled:
- Great accuracy: 30-60%
- Divine accuracy: 80-95+ %, audio dropout all the time
3.) Diva 657 (v1.1) with "multi-threaded" enabled:
- Great accuracy: 23-40%, random audio-dropouts
- Divine accuracy: 34-58+ %, random audio dropouts, when playing fast audio dropouts most of the time
Conclusion: There are obvious improvements in the CPU use but i still got problems using Divine mode with polyphonic sounds. With "multi-threaded" enabled i get random audio-dropouts even with "Great" accuracy.
On my system (Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU) the best combination currently seems to be using "Great" or "Fast" accuracy with "multi-threaded" turned off.

I'm still unsure with buying Diva, the sound is awesome but the cpu issue...
If ACE can bring my cpu down by high accurate setting and stack voices, than Diva could done this with much less settings
