Hi,

I'm making music for some time, even earning money with it. As far as music theory I feel that I have covered the bases (many, many years ago I was in a music school:), but when it comes to mixing I'm self-taught. I'm doing mostly electronic music - because my rock mixes suck big time (and I started as a black-metal dude - the irony...). Electronic music using Massive and similar VSTi's is easier to mix on a "usable" level :).

My primary job is video editing, but sometimes in my work I clean-up Pro Tools projects or do little mixes in a ready made templates by sound-engineers from our company. And many times I don't really understand why they used "this plugin" or "that plugin" with "this settings" or "that settings". And they don't really have time to answer my questions :(... or I have time to experiment in the work environment...

I have some knowledge about equing, compression - but as I looked at these projects I've understood that I need get strong in basics and train my ear...

So I thought - maybe I will find some good online school or mixing course... I know about some, but I'm curious which ones you would recommend. I'm looking for ones with a human contact, with homeworks and stuff :)) not an ordinary youtube tutorial...

For more then just basic mixing tutorials these ADVANCED MIXING, INTERMEDIATE, BEGINNERS MIXING tutorials are very detailed and easy to follow.
They cover alot of ground and give step by step examples of compression, equalization, effects and all aspects of mixing music in great detail.
The tutorials can be downloaded and viewed unlimited times which is very useful for learning.
They also offer TEACHER/STUDENT interaction for your mixes at a reasonable price.
