Not sure how to classify this at all.
Equally unsure if its finished , but i'm sure it can definitely be improved.
If rich chords , fast basslines ,and quirky melodies are your thing , you may like this.

not a genre person myself, with so much style mixing these days, my best guess is other kaliedescope jazz, lol. love the way that bass folded in at the start, it gives the track a jump but also later provides a melodic basis. that lead sound is neat and cool the way you played along side with the piano. the pad gave it a nice rounding agent against the beat. yeah, cool stuff

yeah Wave , I try to keep the goalposts wide myself , and try to avoid pigeonholing myself within limited genres , and most of the time I don't know how to classify what I make , even though i've been listening to electronic stuff since about 1984.wavephonic wrote:not a genre person myself, with so much style mixing these days, my best guess is other kaliedescope jazz, lol. love the way that bass folded in at the start, it gives the track a jump but also later provides a melodic basis. that lead sound is neat and cool the way you played along side with the piano. the pad gave it a nice rounding agent against the beat. yeah, cool stuff
Glad you like the bass cos it was a bit of a struggle to get it to behave =)
That lead is the MDA JX10 ( freeware ) doubled up with another more digital synth. I like using freeware cos I find it satisfying coaxing sounds like this outta them , rather than have it all handed to me on a plate in a preset....... most times anyway. Not against presets , but I lust like tweakin stuff and havin a " what does this button do " mentality. This is also why i'm NOT an electrician =P
Thanks for taking the time to comment !!
