Just out of curiosity, not like I can afford them
just wondering what the coolest pieces of VST controlling kit are, especially regarding how well they integrate with various VSTi. What are the best 'combos'?

impOSCar2 Controller (IMP2C) is the coolest interface with knobs, by far. Proper resolution everywhere, proper build, just great. And iPad with Lemur is the coolest touch screen interface, it works amazingly well and the possibilities are something else.

I will never have a Vax77 or an Eignharp.

I want one! How much?
Because the controller supports MIDI learn, you can use it with any other software instrument too, but this hand-crafted piece of hardware has been designed to mirror ImpOSCar 2's interface as closely as possible. It's not cheap - £749 plus tax and shipping.

ttoz: it can be used with any plugin that receives MIDI messages.
Sure I like some software synths, like Aalto, Chipsounds, deputy Mark II, DKS, which are very "usable", and controlling an "effect instrument" like Ambitron is especially fun.

I like wood in my synths and controllers, something about it makes them seem more 'alive' to me. Just all psychological but everything gets filtered through the mind.

Not much wood, and it realy depends of what, and how, you want to control :
This one is great for percs for example :
