I could use a hand with how best to setup and integrate using an Apogee Ensemble, D-Box Summing Mixer and some outboard. I get the basics of patch bays but Im not sure how I got about things when using the 8-channel D-Box. Its come time for a patch bay as the IO is getting a bit much for the Ensemble. This is what weve got:
- Apogee Ensemble (8 analog in/outs)
- SPL Channel One (main Mic Pre)
- 2 X Avalon 747 (stereo pair mic pre, however you can toggle line/mic meaning that I could also use the Avalons as EQ/Comp sends via line ins)
- TC M4000 Stereo Verb
-Neutrik NYS-SPP L1 TRS 48 point patch bay
-Theres also an old Akai S5000 with out in/outs which be nice to hook up and to also use its filters to send to but not essential
It would be nice to be able to patch mics between preamps but because the mics were using have their own phantom power supply as I understand it, it's not a good idea to do that with TRS patch bays as stuff might get fried? Im mainly a little confused as to the Ensemble connections and how I'd need to reflect this in our Cubase 6 template setup.
Any help would be most appreciated!
Jim
