EDIT July 2012: This sound bank is now released. All info and new demos here:

Hi all,
I'd like to share with you a little preview of my forthcoming sound bank. This track is really a test of some of the sounds, than a proper composition. It's influenced by Tangerine Dream and similar psychedelic electronic music from the 1970s. Having said that, at the very end of the track there is a nasal solo which reminds me more of Ozric Tentacles psychedelia than TD.
In any case, I know that this little ditty may not make any sense in this day and age of dubstep and house mafia glitch-tronica, still, if you like old school sounds (with a few twists thrown in for good measure), it may be of interest to you (those two or three people). It's best to listen to it after a pint or two.
ETA is not set yet, but the bank is pretty much done.
So unfashionable, it hurts...it's a mess, pure noodlefest. Get glitch edit and move on with the times daddy o!
EDIT.
Added demos below, which have appeared later in this thread:
Tangerine
TOTEMVOLT
Night Drive
Italo Disco

I am very familiar with 70s TD (Phaedra, Ricochet, Encore, etc.) so I know exactly what you're going for. No disrespect intended but to me most of those sounds sound like they came from a softsynth rather than vintage analogs. This is probably why I am not enthusiastic about Saurus.

But that is interesting because the first thing that came to mind was "ooooooo, that has promise"
Then again, I just go by first impressions and don't have the overall expertise others do.

Not quite. That demo was not supposed to emulate the sound of any of the albums you have mentioned, rather it was meant to give a general vibe of the classic electronic music with a few twists. The first post mentions Ozric Tentacles, so that should point to a greater range of sounds than just TD. (It's all in the first post).FrantzM wrote:so I know exactly what you're going for.
If i were to get closer to classic Tangerine Dream sound I'd think along these lines:
Tangerine
There is no compression or EQ, only a limiter to keep a few peaks in check. You might need to turn the volume up to get a better level.

I don't see why not. If they can be compressed into a ZIP file for download, you will get a pair. Or two and a wig (using higher compression ratio).

analog or digital pants? this is the kvraudio forums, so it matters...himalaya wrote:I don't see why not. If they can be compressed into a ZIP file for download, you will get a pair. Or two and a wig (using higher compression ratio).

I don't know if you've heard that band, but the general sound, timbre reminds me of Ayreon. Very nice!
