Cool. Can't wait to pay off my medical bills so there'll be enough to upgrade from CS5 to 6. 5 came with something called Soundbooth, which one may charitably call entry-level.
Until then I'll keep on using old reliable Sound Forge 6 with the Authentic Look of Windows 98. Hey, long as it gets the job done! (It does.)

I've been a very light, casual user of Audition for a few versions now... I prefer Sound Forge myself. So here's a question. How do I set it to loop playback around in/out points instead of the visible area onscreen?
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Have you considered contacting someone at Adobe Sales? The inflated Australian price might just be a mistake...
I haven't spent any time with CS6 yet (too busy), but at least in previous versions, looping the playback seemed problematic. If you enabled loop mode on the transport controls, it would play from the beginning of what appeared on screen to the end of what appeared on screen, and then loop back. There was no way to set an in and an out point and have it loop between those points while viewing a larger area on screen. It would always loop over the entire area that was visible at any given time. Either that, or I just never figured out how to do it. Like I said, I prefer Sound Forge when working in my studio at home, and only use Audition when I need to do something at work. I do own CS6 Production Premium at home, so I have the latest version and should probably give it another try.

Well, deastman, do you really suppose a mature audio editor wouldn't have such a basic feature?deastman wrote:There was no way to set an in and an out point and have it loop between those points while viewing a larger area on screen. Click over the waveform from where you'd like the loop to start and drag to where you'd like it to end. Then press the loop button, then play button. You could also adjust loop points by clicking on them and dragging left/right.

ttoz, why don't you buy it from somewhere else, not directly from Adobe?ttoz wrote:did that an hour ago, absolutely 100% correct pricing, the poor guy (just a sales rep on the phone) said they have had people screaming at them about it for the last 2 years and adobe doesn't seem to give a shit.deastman wrote:Have you considered contacting someone at Adobe Sales? Yes, I just saw that. But you could search around at Australian retailers, or buy it second hand here or at ebay...

Wait til you buy CS6 Master Collection or Microsoft Windows directly. $AU prices are nothing but a ripoff.ttoz wrote:... they will NOT let me buy it at US prices no matter what i do,... the australian store they are charging $585 AU for a $349 USD product

Well, you could change your IP, there are ways to do that, however I don't know if it's OK for me to give you such an advice... Might get myself banned.ttoz wrote:greedy currency conversion fees have always turned me off.
I am sure at the end of the day if i get desperate i will just get someone to buy it for me and hand the US account over to me
they can put my name for everything and use THEIR CC , and i can PP them the money plus a little bonus i guess.
I'll think about it
