Yeah, that bank/expansion got me thinking... I've tried an older Zampler version a while back and it kept crashing FL so it went straight in the bin.

But after seeing this release, plus several other recent ones ("Orbit" and "Roaar" in particular) I thought it would be neat to keep Zampler just for those sounds(I was planning on getting the hardware MiniNova & Rocket, but I can settle for just a portion - if it's free, he he). But I can't get 'em - the Zampler website is down, Beatdrive still points to that site for downloads, the Facebook page offers only the newest bank. I'm starting to lose my patience

Too much hassle...

I've (finally) managed to get the banks & I've also learned something new (about web.archive)

Yay

Now I only need to hunt down "Orbit", he he

Rocket sure is neat (I have a soft spot for pocket-sized synths)

All in all, Zampler starts to look (sound) like a pretty cool option. The banks are quite small for my insatiable preset "hunger", but they do sound nice and seem to have a certain character & charm

The arp/seq options are the best thing for me, patterns of up to 32 steps, and also duo, means one can do some serious playing with just one finger

Same here

I keep only the synths that do have an in built arp/seq. I heavily rely on this type of sounds/presets so yeah, I'm an arp fanatic.

One more question: is there a way to download the additional Zampler banks that were released on the magazine's DVD, or getting the physical copies of Beat is the only way?

No only the DVD's so far unfortunately.

As a subscriber I have managed to collect most of the DVD's, and have so far got 20GB+ content and 1300+ patches for Zampler from Beat

Pf...I was afraid of that

Zampler has a sound of its own and I do like it, but ftm without a subscription I'm afraid I'll have to keep it under locked key. It's nice to get 20 - 30 selected sounds pulled from hardware machines every now and then (and again: the presets sound lovely), but not enough to keep it on my PC (I'm running out of space - darn you Kontakt). Free synth, several free presets/banks, tons of magware sounds & banks...that's why I also hate Rez so much...

Bummer the mag is in German...I can't read it and to subscribe only for the Zampler banks...neah.

Anyway, thanks a lot for all the info & help - much appreciated

Heh, thanks to Beat magazine & Waldorf for the generosity

IMO what they're doing is a very smart move: on one hand they focus on sounds/samples taken off real hardware - that you can't get anywhere else; on the other hand, they advertise for those products and since they seem to pick the ones on the cheaper side, they might actually manage to increase their sales a bit

Really love Zampler. It's a solid product and the sounds are great.

Any chance there could be a commercial "Pro version" of some sort, which would include a 64bit version and subscription to the samplepacks?
