This is going to public beta today I believe.
This is a slightly different take on the traditional amp sim products as it emulates the complete recording chain amp -> mic -> console
There are 5 channels in the bx_rockrack basis version, modeled to sound like these classic amps:
- Clean Marshall® JCM800®
- Lead Marshall® JCM800®
- Clean ENGL® 530
- Lead ENGL® 530
- MesaBoogie® Rectoverb®
The Cabinets used:
- Marshall® 1960 TV
- MesaBoogie® 4x12
- Orange® 2x12
- Diezel® 4x12
The studios and engineers who helped us capture their original recording chains:
- THE MIX ROOM (Ben Grosse), Burbank, CALIFORNIA.
- BRAINWORX STUDIO (Dirk Ulrich), Langenfeld, GERMANY.
Microphones: Vintage Neumann® CMV-563, Royer® 121, Shure® SM57
Consoles: NEVE® VXS72 plus TAB® V76 mic preamp (Brainworx Studio)
SSL 9000K with Vintage Neve 1073 preamps & EQs. (The Mix Room LA)
bx_rockrack is not connected with, or approved or endorsed by, the owners of the Celestion, Marshall, Mesa/Boogie, Neumann, Royer, Shure names. These names are only used to identify the guitar amplifiers, cabinets, speakers and microphones which we emulated or captured.

Demo is available now.
My initial impression....... the preset recording channels are great.
Here is the not so pretty part:
- Pretty high CPU
- Sometimes it crashes my DAW on preset change
- It's not the PRO version at $249.... I wonder how much will the PRO version be?
- I feel very limited, I think it's geared toward the high gain/Metal players so if you are one definitely give it a spin.
Bottom line, they did a fantastic job capturing the CAB>MIC>MIC PRE>RECORDING DESK this is something that's missing from all the other plugs.

They dumped ilok last year and have their own licensing system. I am pretty sure all of their stuff is x64. I have a few bx plugins. Not sure if I am jumping on this on yet as I have TH-2, Ampltitube, GR4, and Scuffham.hibidy wrote:Am I to understand that they use an ilok and it's not even x64?

Oh thank you! When I went to the site it was "no need to have an ilok to demo" so...it's not hard to assumegmon72 wrote:They dumped ilok last year and have their own licensing system. BX should contact Ben. All their products in the KVR database still show an iLok Dongle is required.........
Sooooo another company dumps the iLok virus......excellent......all is going as planned......

Works fine!
kinda complicated to get up and running though...
14 day demo, will be fun to try. Nothing earth shattering so far. Wish there was a cab disable so that I could try it with recabinet

What... they're NOT "not connected" with Sennheiser?!
Vintage30 + MD421 = instajizz!!!
Especially when you're after the ENGL Hi Gain sound!

The demo videos sound very good. Is this a Amplitube killer? Hm... could be. Kemper killer? I hope not.

And I wish there was an AMP disable so I can try it with S-Gear.hibidy wrote:Wish there was a cab disable so that I could try it with recabinet
(the CAB section is the best part of this plug)
There will be BYPASS switches on the upcoming PRO version.
Completely sucks.... to pay more in order to be able to bypass something!

Flexibility is always a feature removed from consumer products. Most don't want it and those that do end up paying.AndrewSimon wrote:And I wish there was an AMP disable so I can try it with S-Gear.hibidy wrote:Wish there was a cab disable so that I could try it with recabinet
