Waves plugins on Windows install : 1935 error

Hi all,
I just bought two plugins by Waves, namely the H-Delay and the Metaflanger.
Instead of being able to download what I bought, I had to download some installer, tick whaty I want to install (i also had to tick the Waves Licnse Center ( I guess ) but at the end I run into a Visual C++ 1935 error.
I have other license centers like Native Instrument, but I never had any install problems.
I tried to run as administrator, updated windows (7 HomeP 64bit), even tried that command-line fsutil trick from YouTube... no avail.
The license center seems to be the culprit as "the side by side is incorrect"
Of course it's Saturday, and the weekend begins...
I can't imagine I'm the first to run into this... so: anyone knows a solution?
Must say I getting pretty bored with being taken as a pating hostage against non-paying users...

Thanks, but before adding this post I did Google it, tried all those threads but all end in a wasteland, and none gives a real solution.
I'm not the kind to ask help before having tried all I can imagine myself.

I don't have a solution but I'd suggest a re-install.
I've never had any Visual C++ errors problems with Waves in the past using iLok or with the new Waves License Center.

Hey should be an easy fix, while you install make sure you have admin rights and turn off any antivirus just in case. After you installed, do a restart.
Still problems, reinstall Windows SP1 and all updates after that (takes forever!).
Any luck?

If you have adobe reader version 10 or higher it can cause a conflict, uninstall adobe Reader and then reintall Waves plugins.
I have keep my adobe reader at v9 for this reason.

I'm sorry, i hope my post wasn't harsh or anything. I googled it and it turned out there are lots of information on it, and since you haven't mentioned googling it, i thought I'd share the link
Have you tried updating your .Net Framework to 3.5 SP1 (or to a newer version). It seems it's an issue with Windows (or with the Windows Installer), not with the Waves software. I don't own any Waves plugins btw, this is just a guess.

There has been an old erratic installer for Visual Studio for x64 systems causing some different problems. I would be surprised if Waves still would distribute it though - it's two years back or so.
Look out for if it's a runtime for Visual Studio 2005, 2008 or 2010 that is installed while Waves stuff is installing itself. It's a separate installer you have to confirm somewhere.
Then get that from Microsoft site. It's a so called redistributable for programs built with Visual Studio. Usually there is no harm running this multiple times - but if one is the faulty one - it might need to be run again.
Here is a link to a Microsoft article.

Thanks all, much appreciated!
I have Visual C++'s on my pc i, x64 and x86 versions, but all from 2008 onwards. I can't understand why Waves would still use the seven year old 2005 version.
I'm first gonna try to uninstall that flash player application because it's the easiest, then I'll try to get that 2005 version of Visual C++
If this get solved, I'll post the solution.

Right. I uninstalled flash player and acrobat reader. Same problem. I sownloaded both the x86 nd x64 versions of Visual C++ and when trying to install them I got that same 1935 error, so I guess Waves coùes with these versions, they can't get installed and block further licensing.
Guess a fresh Windows install is about the best I can do...sigh.

FWIW, i was trying to help a friend install AVG on Win7, and it kept erroring, i tried everything i could find online, finally i found one lone post, someone said to set "Windows Modules Installer" to manual, and it worked. Taking a look at blackvipers default lists, it appears this service has changed since SP0 (and is now manual).
Never had problems installing anything in the past, just AVG now, and that service was the problem.
Figured i would post since setting a windows service to manual is something quick to try before an entire format. Good luck.

I still use VS 2005, seen no reason to upgrade. VS 2010 destroyed helpsystem and to develop for .NET 2.0 you have to edit project file manually etc.ErikH wrote:Thanks all, much appreciated!

Anyway, try uninstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable first, then run it again, being sure it's the latest.
I've got 2 VS 2005 installed in the list, and 4 from VS 2008. So it's adding up with each software running it, it seems.
All software that use the shared MSVC runtime need these redistributables installed. If compiling with /MT switch for static runtime linked in it's not needed.

I installed everything anew, starting from Win and ending with Waves. Now everything works like it should.

Tell that to a Reaper user... like me...ErikH wrote:Yet I wish many companies would stop taking their paying customers as hostages in their war against illegal use.
Me: "Some work in Reaper, some crash instantly."
Them: "Reaper's not supported."
That's it.
The ones that work - great.
The ones that don't - make me feel like a right prick for buying their sh*t.
Reaper user? Get my free JSFX plug-ins, also available via ReaPack extension.

Yes, I discovered that too.chokehold wrote:Tell that to a Reaper user... like me...ErikH wrote:Yet I wish many companies would stop taking their paying customers as hostages in their war against illegal use.

I've put a hold on my Waves purchases until there is a Reaper column for supported daws.
The Gold and CLA Classic compressors bundles works just fine in Reaper it seems. But investing more money and just get "not supported" from them if anything fails, is too risky.
