Has anyone noticed that when setting up a new subsession with additional midi routings, that those midi routings may appear in an unmuted status in other subsessions? This means you really have to 'idiot check' the whole session otherwise you may find things happening that you don't want to happen.
Or did I miss some crucial setting?

This seems to be one of the things where defaults could have been choosen better.
In general - a bit OT and not related to Cantabile directly - "mute" isn't as simple as it may appear. I've found different strategies how muting can be implemented.
- Set audio level to zero
(either via fader or a dedicated button)
- Cut off midi on
with the variation of cutting off pending notes immediately or when related note offs really appear.
When you look deeper into midi processing pending notes for smooth transitions while changing midi related settings can cause a lot of headaches... It's not impossible to handle but it's effort usually not taken.
