I would like to build an electronic drum kit similar to Kraftwerk's in the mid 70's. Does anyone know how the built their and where the got the sounds for it?

I'm pretty sure that they were one of the first Zero-G customers. Those sounds were available on their very first sample vinyl - "Moog Invasion From Mars"

Ok, not really.

They were a metal drumstick that struck a metallic pad to complete a circuit. Totally easy to home-brew.
