Your production progress/ stages

Hey,

Im curious to know how other people progressed in production and what sort of 'stages' they went through,

I have been producing now for just under 2 years, electronic dance musc.. I feel now i have learnt how to mix, and i understand music, e.g what tracks of my genre need etc.

But i find that my production skills in terms of unique sounds and also writing chords/ melodies stuck

I think im at what people call 'The dip' its basically where by you have gone past all the 'fun learning' stages and its time to get it done serious, its sort of where some people end up either working twice as hard or half as hard,

I've been producing around 12 hours mon-friday for the past 8 months, i take it pretty serious, but im curious if anybody else has been through this stage of feeling like they arent progressing that much, even though they put countless hours in to it

I tried to write a new track today, which ended up in listening to music for around 8 hours trying to gain inspiration and still nothing
