Virtual analogue both. The "Lights" track has emulated TR-808 hi-hats, the "Cloud" track is ASynth with a complex effect stack.

Also here's a new cover image for "Fake Moog Cloud":

relaxing, atlhough something about the sound, sounds a tad bit harsh or something, harsh is probably the wrong word but some frequency or something doesn't sound good in there. Song is wonderful. Also this happens to me a lot when I add piano to something, there are just some unpleasant frequencies going on somewhere. I think my ears may be pretty sensative to them.

Try getting the 96-KHz versions... It's downloadable for PWM Lights at least, http://www.soundcloud.com/S-Priest/pwm-lights/download

The harshness is likely 44/16 harshness. MP3 files are coarse, CDs also. The originals are 96/32.

96/24 FLAC file added for the "Cloud" too.
