As a Maschine owner, NI gave me Komplete Elements quite awhile ago. For whatever reason I never really checked it out. But I gotta say I'm really liking Photone. Especially for pads.

Anyone else?

Photone is one of my favourite ensembles, in many respects it's one of the ancestors of Massive.

and in some respects it still surpasses Massive. particularly in the sound department.

and I don't know if I'm happy or sad about this.
but yeah, another photone fan here. it can sound absolutely engrossing.

+1!

I am the Photone (and Carbon) fanboi. Posted this recently:

(and took some deserved crap for playing guess the synth).

Hardly anyone discusses those two synths (I did a search once and found one of my old posts here :dog:) but I think they hold up very well. Great modulation possibilities, and Reaktor's engine is still as capable as all but some of the latest cutting-edge synths (I don't have to mention names :hihi: )

I've thought of skinning them at some point just for fun.

At any rate, Photone does excel in the pad department. It (and Carbon) have an "icy" sound that I like.

Glad to hear there are fans. It's foolish, but I think sometimes when an instrument or effect gets little use, you can get caught up in the "it must not be good even though I like it" bullsh*t (the converse is true for popular plugs of course). If Skryllex used Photone instead of FM8 we'd never hear the end of it.

I really like Photone :)

It is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by anybody who invests in Komplete Elements.

Further sweetening the deal by including the full version of Spark in KE, that really is a no brainer deal by NI

Please do. I think it could use a bit of a makeover.

Great instrument and super light on the cpu these days too! (There was a time when I thought I'd never say that of a reaktor instrument).

Love the comb filter. Lurker effect is amazing for that kind of sound too.

One of my favorites as well.
