scales & chords

please.. iam doing a scales and to that chords reference and iam stuck..
i want to ask for example:
when i have major scale in c what is formula
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7(c1,d1,e1,f1,g1,a1,b1,c2,d2,e2,f2,g2,a2,b2)
and major chord what is formula:
1,3,5(c1,e1,g1)
can be that major chord in that major scale too in other position on for example:
f1,a1,c2 or g1,b1,d2?
because it fits in formula..
or that chord must start with major tone of scale?
and if not.. is name of chord changed someway?
very big thank you.. hope help not only me..

hmm.. i never thinked about it that way.. ok.. my question is.. can be f-major chord used in c-major scale?:) and if what is it name there? thank you..

Scales, Modes and Chords
All Major scales consist of 7 different notes before you get back where you started. The intervals between each of those notes in turn follows the pattern:
Tone, Tone, Semitone, Tone, Tone, Tone, Semitone.
A semitone is the smallest distance, a tone is 2 semitones.
So, you could say 2212221 (1=Semitone, 2=Tone).
For example: CDEFGABC - That is the only major scale using all white notes on the keyboard. All other major scales have to use at least one black note (sharps and flats) to keep the same pattern of intervals.
All major triads (the simplest chord) have 4 semitones between the first two notes and 3 semitones between the second two notes.
You can form chords on all degrees of the scale. We name these using Roman Numerals: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII.
In any major key (sticking just to the notes of that key), chords build on the first, fourth and fifth degrees are always major chords (I, IV and V).
Chords built on the other degrees are minor chords (except VII which is diminished).
So, for example in C major, chords built on C, F and G will all be major chords. So you can use F major and G major in the key of C without any problems.
The chord of G major for example is always called G major. It will however be chord IV in the key of D, chord I in the key of G, and chord V in the key of C. - The chord can be used in any of those keys.

Every scale degree can be harmonized with a chords and not all of them are major triads. For example in C major:
C C Major
D D minor
E E minor
F F Major
G G major
A A minor
B B diminished
C C Major
D D minor
E E minor
F F Major
G G major
A A minor
B B diminished

ya know, i'm with the rest of you that jan can be a big pain in the ass and have had differences with her too many times to count... but that's a particularly ugly insult. there's plenty to insult jan for without going there.lingyai wrote:Indeed. Sorry, there is nothing nasty about either comment.
