How do I go about recording vocals? I mean I've been opening reason 6.5 and just using that but am now reading a book on Studio pro one 2 and would like to know how to save your presets so I can just turn the mic on and record. I always find it difficult and un motivating to turn everything on and try and mess around with the effect before singing to get a good sound.

Do you make the beat first or lay vocals first? I need some great tips.

I definately have a beat, or preferable a song, before I start putting down vocals. It's hard to into the right mood, with just a metronome clicking.

But there are no rules, really. Just do what comes natural to you.
