UA 6176 setup help please

M box pro plus the 6176

microphone plugged into back of preamp side on 6176 and a cable I bought that runs out the compresser side into the m box pro line 1.

Nothing is happening. Yes I get the purple light on the front to light up but dont hear anything in the microphone.

Any thoughts?
