Hi,

the informations i got about the Pulse 2 now are that there should be a working unit at this years Musikmesse and some more units are about to be assembled (mostly for Beta testers i guess). Further updates should be about the firmware part and the factory sounds.

No release date yet but i guess it will be not before May this year.

Finally! I hope Nick @ sonicstate covers this thing as they almost always provide excellent audio (i.e. they use line in and not just some crappy mic).

Just a little image to drool on :)

The guy was talking a little fast for me... but if I'm understanding correctly... sounds like the Pulse2 borrows some ideas from the Rocket in that it's paraphonic. Also sounds like it will have both a low pass and a high pass filter.

Ingo, we need you here! :)
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Non Eric from musotalk.de and Holger Steinbrink are talking about the upcomming Waldorf Pulse 2. Original Sounds from Pulse are integrated. 500 save slots for saving own presets. Low Pass and new High Pass Filter. Available spring 2013 (next 1-2 months) for 400-500 € (roundabout).

It actually might be: oscs are analogue, filters are analogue, amps are analogue.
Murderous duck!

If they do this right it's going to be one of the better options out there imo. I love the original pulse but it's a very specific sound. I made some sounds on the old Pulse that I've literally never heard again. I should never have sold it.

Played it today at the Musikmesse and love it. It could indeed do paraphonic sounds which nice.
The Drive curves (Tube + Fuzz) are nice too and you should use them carefully to not destroy your ears.

For those who have not heard it: Wolfram Franke has left Waldorf!! He was a legend along all people at Waldorf and he will be missed i'm sure. It looks he will work somewhere else soon but no details yet. He was also not at the Musikmese today.

For the Pulse 2 they got a new french developer which seems to be quite cool. I was checking the synth with him together and already found around 2 or 3 things that could be fixed.
Beta testing should start soon and i hope to be one of the persons to participate. I'll write an email to both Frederic (the french deveoper) and Lu Wangard next week as a "reminder". :)
Stefan Stenzel (who was there too today) seems to have developed the hardware parts like the filters etc.

Programming the Pulse 2 is quite straightforward. The mod matrix is availbe as a single page as fara as i could see and the editing matrix with the knobs and switches works nicely.
One nice feature is that for the patch name you could use the knobs for the different letters of the name.

Actually this should be right with one exception:
The oscillator seem to be a mix of VCO (standard waveforms) and DCo (more complex ones. At least this is how Frederic seemed to explain it.

Conclusion:
The Pulse 2 is for real and no "vaporware". It just took a bit longer.

I also tested the Rocket and while it could do nice sound it is quite limited, especially compared to the Pulse 2.

Thanks, Ingo!

The Pulse2 is certainly on my radar. I have a Pulse 1 sitting right here and I still love it. Having the option of multiple voices is very exciting... even if it isn't true polyphonic!

I for one don't mind that it's taken so long because it sounds like they've done a very good job with it!

Sad to hear about Wolfram... though I wish him all the best at his new position! (U-he?) I hope his leaving doesn't have any negative impact on possible future development of Largo and PPG3V.
