Hello,

I am trying to make 80s-styled electronic music (an example of such music would be, "The Ultimate Warlord by The Immortals").

What is the best VST pack for this kind of music?

Thanks for any help,

U-he Diva, ACE, Zebra have many 70- 80s commercial presets and nothing beats DIVA for analog synth sound.

In addition to the above, definitely get SQ8L - it's free and pretty damn near immaculate for 80's stuff.

OPX-PRO II is also very good at that sound, it has hundreds of classic synth presets from the 70's and 80's and they're very convincing.

The Juno 60 was one of the key instruments of that era. For an inexpensive and very good emulation of that synth, check out Tal-U-No LX -- A Juno 60 for $40! :-)

As previously mentioned, Diva is excellent for the sounds you are looking for.

NI's FM8 covers the Yamaha DX7 sounds.

As previously mentioned, OPX-Pro II is full of 80's goodness! :-)

And as already mentioned, SQ8L is very good for sound from that period.

Another free synth that does a good job of covering the 80's Roland sound is the Tyrell N6.

Electric Himalaya (a truly excellent preset creator) did a very fine set for DCam Synth Squad. Here's the link - http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=175
