in your screen shot of live, what is the view right above the drum rack?

It says "Pad 3 is a D" How do you get that view?

Hiya dw, the view is the expanded Spectrum window. You get it by clicking on the triangle at the top of Spectrum. You have to select the settings in Spectrum as per the pic, ie turn off Auto, play with the scales, and put it into pitch mode (ST button). You can drag the top of the window up.
