Pity Audiobus hasn't been implemented into this update but I guess it will be in the next update of BeatMaker 2.

UPDATE: Beatmaker 2.4.2 update has been released but still no sign of Audiobus support :(

2.4.2 out today, but Audiobus still to come...

I'm so looking forward to being able to play Sunrizer and Nlog Pro through Beatmaker 2 via Audiobus. Hopefully it will be in the v2.4.3 update or v2.5 update.

intua team says about 2.4.2:"we would like to apologize for pushing one more update before christmas".

Much better than NanoStudio... ;)

What's wrong with Nanostudio? Seems to have higher ratings...

NanoStudio has the benefit of a built-in synth, but with Audiobus support coming in BeatMaker 2, you'll be able to use any iOS synth with it.

In addition to this, BM2 has much better, more flexible sampling options. Also, BM2 has audio tracks, which is a major advantage.

NanoStudio isn't a bad app, but BM2 is quite a bit more feature complete.

i saw in the nano forum that some people blame beatmaker for being not as stable as nanostudio but its easy to create bugs from time to time if you implement such a lot new features as intua does just in the past few months. As far as i can see Nanostudiois is what it is (and of course its anything else then bad) but won't get any major updates.BM2 is running quite stable on my both ipads.cannot say that its more unstable than most other apps or DAW's i've used.Though it doesnt it mean it would NEVER crash.

I like NanoStudios synth, but Beatmaker 2's drum sampler is far better and that's what made me switch. Both great programs though.

I've tried to get into BM, but last I checked the effects sounded really bad. The compressor, in particular, sounded worse than early compressor plugins from 13 years ago. I'd rather have things that are implemented well than a long feature list.

true, the effects are still the achilles'heel. But i have no doubt they gonna improve them as well. The new parametric eq sounds much better as you would expect and is a welcome addition. It's a serious tool, not a toy...

I have Nanostudio on my system. I bought it because it was the top application to have when I got my ipad. It is a 16Gb iPad 2, and space is at a premium. Nanostudio just seems to me to have reached an end in its development lifespan, without incorporating a lot of really needed features (ie audio recording, audiobus, etc). It is just too limited for what I'd like to do. I like the synth, but I need other tools than just a synth (ie real/sampled instrumetns). I recognize that it has a great sequencer and interface, but like I just said, I need more than just synth parts. As it is for me, at best Nanostudio is a tool to create synth parts, and I have plenty of other synths that can do this. In fact, as previously mentioned, with Audiobus, Beatmaker2 has everything I need, and I could save needed space on my iPad by deleting Nanostudio. I'm holding off until I absolutely need to do so, but I don't think it will be on my system much longer without some major feature updates (which I suspect I won't be seeing). It's a good program, but "good" just doesn't cut it anymore. There are lots of Great programs, and I have limited space. :|

I think there are technical limitations keeping NanoStudio from incorporating certain features, and I think Audiobus is one of them. NS was developed in such a way so that the code could be easily ported to various platforms, but in doing so, those technical limitations are in place. I'm only guessing at this.

Nano's developer, Matt, is apparently working on a new app, which I think is probably NanoStudio 2. He's probably re-coding large chunks of the app to take advantage of iOS features so that the new app will be able to use things like Audiobus.

Maybe NanoStudio 2 will be amazing, but until then, I'm sticking with BeatMaker 2. The sampling features are a real time saver, and I've never had any problem with the workflow. Some effects could be better but I think Intua will do something about that in the near future. The new parametric EQ is a good sign.
