Especially portrait mode which lets you see two tracks at once :) I'm stoked, this is awesome!

Has anybody managed to use a midi controller with Caustic?

As I understand the latest update allows for that.

I have

You need a recent device with Android 3.2 or greater which supports USB "host mode" for plugging in accessories as well as a USB on the go cable which plugs into your device. Then you need a USB MIDI device which works driver-less under Windows/Mac (class-compliant). If you've got all those and you enable MIDI control in Caustic's MIDI options, you should be good to go.

I mentioned this awhile back on the website, but I've got a Korg microkey25 that I managed to get to work with it on my Asus TF300T tablet via the keyboard dock's USB port. At least the keys anyway. the joystick pitch/mod controller didn't seem to do much of anything.

Since the keyboard dock USB port is full-size, I didn't need the "to-go" cable. I just used the device cable that came with the Korg.

I'm waiting to receive my new phone, that is LG Optimus L9, which runs Android 4.0

Hope I can use my AKAI MPK Mini with that to control Caustic, would be a great little setup :)

According to this specs database, the L9 doesn't offer USB host mode. Let's hope they're wrong...

(look under DATA-->USB and compare with a higher-end model like the Optimus G)

It is not a crisis, if it doesn't work. I shall be able do without using Midi keyboard.

The cool thing with this phone is that it got a big screen (4.7 inches) and good resolution (540 x 960 pixels), so shall nevertheless be able to have a lot of fun with Caustic in touch screen mode :tu:
