What effects / plugins / technology to achieve "voice morphing"

This is a good example on the impossibility to use Google, as I do not know how to call what I'm seeking

As you can hear from this short segment of this track I LOVE the voice frequency of the singer is "morphed" onto the underlying stroked contreabas (sorry of these are not correct English terms). Is there any plugin / effect or whatever to achieve this ? Any explanation on how to do this ? First record the voice and then warp it ? If this is relevant I use Ableton as my DAW on a Mac machine,

It's sounds like Melodyne to me. I'm not sure that the voice is morphing onto the the contrabass as I don't know any technology able to do such a thing unless, perhaps, the Spectrasonics composite morphing technology (CMT) that they used for Omnisphere to create some crazy soundsources, but I doubt it, as this technology hasn't been release to public (yet), as far as I know, but I'd put my money on Melodyne. You have total control about formant and pitch of a voice or any audio source which can result in crazy sounding voices. I don't know any better technology capable to achieve this type of voice transformation things. But let me know if you find something better, I'd be interested
