Hello guys,

I have been thinking and thinking today and maybe some of you with a little more knowledge can lend me a hand over here.

Is the following premise true?

"As long as there are audio interfaces that work directly with iOS devices, via the 30-pin/lighting connection, then we can assume all class-compliant USB-based interfaces -either MIDI or Audio aka Mics- will always work via the CCK, knowing that the CCK itself?"

I don't know, since CCK is not supported officially on iPod/iPhone (and yes I tried CameraConnector and it was a waste of money and time since it won't work) then one could assume the CCK is an interface whose owner is exclusively Apple, who can allow or disallow communications via CoreAudio / CoreMidi, which is not the case for 3rd party audio interfaces with a proper iDevice adaptor (30-pin or lightning) who for some reason are always gonna be "supported"?

Is that so? or do I have it all mixed up and Apple doesn't really have anything to do with 3rd party interfaces, they just do something internally that will always render them as a valid CoreAudio/CoreMidi device to iOS? And that is NOT the case for the CCK?

The background question of course, in case you wonder, is... in the long run, should I get a "proper" audio interface for iOS or just keep on using the CCK and I'll be just fine.

Thanks for your time and Happy New Year!!! :wheee:
What better religion than music itself?
