Plugin sales... Do you still buy plugins at full price?

In the past I bought most of my plugins at full, regular price.
But during the last winter sales I saw A LOT of very recent plugins (also some of the ones that I bought at full price) that had a 25 to 50 % discount.
Sad as it may sound, I will not buy plugins from "some companies" at full price anymore because their plugins go into sales very quickly.
What are your thoughts? Are sales good or evil?

Neither... for better or worse, they seem to be a part of the game now. I'm like you, though - I will be hesitant to pay the full price in the future.PascalVB wrote: What are your thoughts? Are sales good or evil?

i buy only 2nd hand or when something is on sale (but seems there are always another super-sales afterwards so..)
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I learned my lesson years ago. Unless I absolutely 100% NEED a plugin for a project that I'm working on then I will gladly wait until the big discounts during the winter holiday season.
At this point I have most of what I need. But sometimes there are new tools that pop up that I'll gladly buy NOW and pay full price because it truly is "that damn good".

I've never bought a plugin at full price.. ever.
When it comes to electronic format products, I always wait for the price to drop and it almost always does. Outside of Mario Kart for Wii which is ancient and has only decreased by around 15 dollars.
Then again my hardware I bought on blowout sales or second hand too (outside of my small mixer and the audio interface). It seems odd to spent a premium to have a lot of things brand new.. like a car.. when it depreciates by thousands as soon as you drive it off of the new car lot.
Unless you're doing this for a living, or just have spare cash to throw around, why would you spend top dollar for brand new, non-sale prices?

Well if the plug in was released in November, and has a more important discount during the winter sale than on the intro price, this is something to consider.PascalVB wrote:In the past I bought most of my plugins at full, regular price.

Otoh if the plug in is released in february, in all other cases than intro price, you'll have to wait almost one year
THe big discounts we see nowadays just reflect the crisis. They will end when/if crisis fades away imho.

I'd buy full price if I feel the price is fair (this doesn't mean low!) and if I need the thing. A good part of my setup has been bought thanks to discounted sales and special offers/promotion (I wouldn't have been able othewise!) and I usually look/wait for them, but I don't mind paying full price if the product deserves it (though I don't like at all if it gets discounted quite soon after my purchase... if I feel there could be soon such a sale, I usually wait for it to happend unless I really need the thing immediately).
Anyway, if something is often discounted or it receives a really deep (silly) discount, then I find it very difficult to buy it full price... I feel it as devalued (though it's usefulness is all still there).

I usually wait for sales except for developers who never put their products on sale, like Valhalla.

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

I'ma take the deals!
Too many recently, but still, better than full price. Though at times I feel like I should be in that prilosec commercial "hey, we make stuff you didn't even know you wanted!"
