My new selfmade creature! Steppy 1000 - the friendly hardware step sequencer. (made of an old Akai Sampler Control Panel + Arduino micro controler)

That's... quite amazing. 
If you're only basically using the buttons, I hope the rest of the sample will get similarly repurposed.

Yes, I only use the buttons at the moment. I'm a DIY newbie and this all is more about experimenting and finding out how professional equipment is designed from inside.
Unfortunately the display seems to be dead. I remember it was hardly usable back in the day and I didnt find any information about how to communicate with it yet.
(it's the same display as in the mpc60, it seems)
Anyway, all the parts will find their usage some day!
