Thinking about getting a tablet for running TouchDaw.
Here's one of the cheapest I found on ebay (google translated):

Is anybody using TouchDaw here ?
Would this tablet be ok for it (I don't have any experience with tablets, I know it's probably super-low standard but I wouldn't need it for anything else) or is this a stupid idea ?

What is the end goal you wish to achieve? Does TouchDAW support all that you require for that end goal? Is a 7" tablet the right size to work around on for you? Have you tried any other tablets or even played with this one at a store?

Thanks for the reply, although it's not specifically answering my question.

I'm currently using a BCR2000 to emulate a MackieControl which I use with REAPER.
This is more or less ok, only thing that sucks is the BCR has no Mackie diplay emu, so I use a software display emulation and have constantly to switch back and forth between my computer screen and the BCR while working (uhm which track is assigned to what controller....).

As I see TouchDAW is Mackie compatible AND includes the Mackie display emu this would be a much nicer solution.

Now is that linked tablet suitable for running TouchDaw or not ? ;)

That's going to be pretty low resources for transmitting lightweight datastreams, so I would gamble to say yes, provided you first email the devs who make touchDAW and verify minimum requirements for smooth operation of the app.

Asking the devs is indeed probably the best thing to do (unless someone here uses this exact combination which is rather unlikely), hadn't thought about that somehow.

Thanks for your input.

I would have thought it was suitable. I've played with quite a few similarly spec'ed tablets and, though they lag/stutter on apps like Angry Birds (deal breaker for me :)), I was surprised generally how smooth they were to use. Only thing I'd look out for is response, apparently some of the really cheap ones aren't too responsive to touch (have to prod icons a couple of times etc). Not what you want when controlling things by, y'know, touch. :)

I would just go with a nexus 7. Unless you're really hard up for cash, it's probably better to spend ~200 (or maybe 100-150 used) on something with decent build quality than 100$ on something that's unresponsive and laggy.

my brother has a nexus - it is a wonderful tool for more than just its touch screen. very snappy quad core for browsing, media, etc. great price point for its functionality.

Here in the UK, a nexus 7 will cost you £169. For £69 you can get a dual core jelly bean 7" tablet. That's quite a difference.

I agree. The N7 is a really nice tablet at any price point, but especially $199. Then it would be useful for more than just one task.
