I got a message on my laptop this morning - Memory running low.. One i've been anticipating.. i have logic pro 9 the jam pack, along with Sylenth1, and now Nexus2 with several expansion packs. I've had this macbook pro since 2007! I'm surprised it's still lasted me up this far ;) especially, with my luck in the field of how long my electronics survive (i go thru cell phones & ipods like u won't believe lol)... Anyway, I'm now smart enuff to store my files on a nice good backup external drive (made the mistake last time, and computer crashed, ended up panicking all the way to MicroCenter - and they saved my files on backup and i bought external drive - learned a lesson, and it did cost me a bit. hell, they saved my ass essentially.. So in otherwards, i make sure to backup my stuff..

Anyway, enough of me rambling, i think i'm going to get a head start and start looking around for another decent Mac laptop - time for a newer one.. hopefully, one where i could fit more memory...?? any suggestions on a new good laptop?

also, when ya'll get new synths, plugins, and softwares - doesn't your computer run out of memory afterawhile? if that's the case, what do u use to help add space? any external drives or something? i know it's sounds so silly the way i'm asking it.. but i'm basically asking if there's anything out there that adds more memory to the computer??

Thanks

HDD's are still the way to go for the time being.
Cloud is fine for long term backups etc, but for heavy use you want it locally.

(most, reasonably priced) Laptops aren't going to have as much HDD space you want for heavy duty abuse So buy more external hard drives, a NAS, or maybe a cheap desktop.

It's 2012, learn a little bit, get with the program.

Protip:
Just delete your porno and empty the recycle bin. Space++

Also don't buy a mac. Since steve jobs died they're sucking even more than ever... you know it makes sense.

I'm a bit confused whether you (or the warning message) meant RAM or hard disk space? Or both?
