Neo Ventilator switch adapter

...and how to do so...

I write about DSP, usually, but thought this simple project might help someone with the same problem I had.

I wanted to control my Neo Instruments Ventilator (Leslie simulator pedal) from a MIDI-controlled relay, since it has not MIDI control. But the short-sighted Neo implementation made that not possible, without buying two MIDI relays—hence this adapter. The adapter also allows a simple spst footswitch to control speed externally, in place of their more expensive dual footswitch.

It's a very simple circuit, wiring, and a couple of 1/4" jacks—I built it in a mint tin:

very cool :)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
