Hi guys,

I've been a user of the site for a while but only just signed up, so first of all, hello

I'm a sound designer from England, mainly creating my sounds from feedback loops at the minute, although I do user other techniques. I've contributed sounds to some great online sample libraries such as Soundsnap, Sampleism, Freesound and Soundbyter.

I've a decent-sized free sample pack I'd like to freely distribute which includes sounds from an APC circuit, a circuit bent toy guitar and many more. The majority of sounds are quite suitable for percussive elements, glitch and sci-fi fx.

Drop me a message if you are interested and I'll get a link sent over to a file hosting site (any recommendations?)

Dropbox and Box hosting are both worth looking into. Dropbox offer 2GB free (expandable through introductions) and Box has 5 GB free. No idea of the charges for more content though.

sounds cool, sent you a PM. in the PM I was going to ask you to say more about the feedback loop technique you used, but figured I'd ask here as others might be interested as well.

Michael, my feedback loops primarily come from a very simple hardware set up.

I use a cheap Behringer 4 channel mixer and various guitar effects, a Boss Digital Delay (usually with it's own feedback loop running too) is a mainstay but I also sometimes use an Octaver and Distortion alongside it, or whatever else is to hand. Anything goes

Essentially, the mixers outputs are fed through the effects and back into one of the mixers inputs. The results can often be wild, but can be controllable and I'll usually record a lengthy improvised session into Audacity, tweaking the mixers nobs, effects settings etc as I go.

Then I'll meticulously edit everything down. I do often play around with Audacity's effects too once I'm in there, which provides some excellent results.

The key is really just improvising a lot and recording everything. Sometimes I'll end up with large amounts of unusable recordings, but it's often worth it for the whole 'diamond in the rough' aspect

got a chance to listen last night to the sounds. I love how you have isolated individual sounds into one hits. will be really easy to drag and drop into a sampler for making kits. thanks again, some really nice stuff here.
