I'm about to try my hand at a bit of Diy controller building but I really dont wanna have to do any coding coz
a> I dont know how to and
b>I've got better things to do.
I'll be using it in Ableton and just need a few buttons and maybe 2 pots/faders, cheap as chips and of course no coding. After some research I'm still not sure what to use as the brain for my little baby but I'm leaning towards this

The latter seems to be a 'joystick controller' so without some sort of translation you're not going to get MIDI out of that, by the sound of it its going to appear as a generic HID device.

One alternative to the Livid is something like this:

The main difference really is that the Livid connects to your system via USB, whereas the Doepfer is 5-pin MIDI so potentially useable with any MIDI hardware too.
