I'm confused about whether DS-404 works in OS X or not. The K-v-R review page says it does. The last CM disc I got (guitar special issue) has an OS X version. But there is no mention of OS X on either the Muon or CM page. I can't find the answer to this on any forum, so I need your help.
I have it in my VST folder. It opens in Tracktion, looks great, but it doen't seem to load .404 files like ns_kit7. (SR-202, CM-505, etc. work just fine in Tracktion)
Any help in clarifying this would be great.

I found my own solutions, so I'll post them for you other OS X users out there.DS-404 does run in OS X. (At least in Tracktion, no problem.) Ns_kit7.404 works very well! Long decay sounds like cymbals do eat up CPU cycles like crazy, however.
I did finally get around to reading the manual
, but the most helpful document is the tutorial which is now posted on the CM website along with some practice banks. 404 is not as intuitive as most other VSTs and having somebody walk me through a few key functions really opened the door. This should display a large "Windows Explorer style" ftp window. There is a folder called "Issue 57 ns_kit", in it you will find ns_kit7.404 in three different sizes.
Although I usually use Safari, IE worked a little better for this particular download on my Mac.

This kit is amazing. Very realistic and playable!

The ns_kit found on CM's pages is ns_kit6, not ns_kit7. I guess we'll have to make our own DS-404 patch from the wav's, unless CM decides to do the job for us.
