I dreamed I was a spirit
floating free through air
through molecules and planets
A breeze playing with your hair
I dreamed I was the sun
the source of all that lives
I thought I came full circle
The hand which takes and gives
When I woke up from this dream
I was just the ghost in the machine
I dreamed we were connected
A chemical reaction made us one
A symphony perfected
A battle that was already won
But now I stand corrected
You and I were simply tides and waves
And every day a dream is resurrected
Can you count the cradles and the graves?
When we woke up from our dream
We were just the ghost in the machine
I dreamed I was a spirit
floating free through air
through molecules and planets
A breeze playing with your hair
I dreamed I was the sun
the source of all that lives
I thought I came full circle
The hand which takes and gives
When I woke up from this dream
I was just the ghost in the machine
I dreamed we were connected
A chemical reaction made us one
A symphony perfected
A battle that was already won
But now I stand corrected
You and I were simply tides and waves
And every day a dream is resurrected
Can you count the cradles and the graves?
When we woke up from our dream
We were just the ghost in the machine

Sometimes things put together quickly work better than tracks you agonise over.
This song is a case in point. The music fits the lyrics and singing perfectly.
Excellent vocals and backing!

You made this just for me?
Another great tune. You don't need a fancy backing track when you can sing that well.

A lovely gentle (slightly sad) song. I can't even produce something like that slowly taking my time, let alone as a 'quick' composition.
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

yeah, great singing. do you think the vocals need any 'de-essing' at all, or is it these headphones?
be that as it may; from the opening, the 'dimitri-kabalevsky-esque' 'electric piano' is a great underpinning. that alone probably could have carried the voice through the piece.
the way it actually evolves and 'crescendos' is really cool in any event. among other things, it's got a real '70s pop' (gary wright, 10cc) kind of vibe.
whoah... it just hit me... the singing here is a kind of like jackson browne; but with more interesting lyrics...
anyway, all my little nits and stream-of-consciousness aside; wow, cool!
